Barnes & Noble announces new Samsung Galaxy Tab A NOOK

Barnes & Noble in partnership with Samsung Electronics America has announced a new tablet called Galaxy Tab A NOOK.

It is an Android Tablet with measurements of 7.35 x 4.27 x 0.34 inches and 9.92oz weight. The device sports a 7-inch LCD display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution and 216ppi pixel density.

The Galaxy Tab A NOOK specs include quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU. It has 1.5GB RAM, 8GB Storage ROM and is expandable up to 200GB using MicroSD Card.

The Tablet runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and comes pre-installed with NOOK Software V4.6. It also includes NOOK Profiles that offers customization up to 6 profiles for personalized experience. It’s NOOK AudioBooks will also be included via OTA update in September, that will offer access to nearly 80,000 audio books and 9500 free titles.

The Galaxy Tab A NOOK features in a 4000mAH battery that offers up to 11 hours of internet usage. The tablet also includes 2MP front camera and 5MP auto focus snapper on the back.

In terms of connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, MicroUSB V2.0, GPS+GLONASS, FM Radio, 3.5mm Audio jack etc.

The Barnes & Noble is selling Galaxy Tab A NOOK for US$ 1399.99. Existing NOOK customers can get it for US$ 99.99 and includes a limited time free cover valued at US$ 39.95.
