TCL Communication has announced BlackBerry KEY2 LE. It is cut-down variant of BlackBerry KEY2 which was first introduced in June and later went on sale in India in July.
Aesthetically speaking, the KEY2 LE is very similar to KEY2. It has low weight poly-carbonate frame and newly designed soft textured back. Its 4-row QWERTY keyboard gets a new design, with its keys being 10% larger than one seen in BlackBerry KEYOne. Users can add up to 52 customizable shortcuts to its keys. Moreover, there is a special speed Key as well.
The mobile has dimensions of 150.25 x 71.8 x 8.35 mm and weighs 156 grams. It has Fingerprint sensor which is placed under space bar key. The device also includes Hybrid Dual SIM Slots (nano + nano / MicroSD) and supports 4G VoLTE. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo OS.
The BlackBerry KEY2 LE specs include 4.5-inch touch display with 1620 x 1080 pixels resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio, 433ppi pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 636 mobile platform with Adreno 509 GPU. It has 4GB RAM and comes with 32GB / 64GB storage options. One can use MicroSD cards up to 256GB for additional storage space.
This BlackBerry Android phone features in 8MP front camera for selfies. At the back side is 13MP (1/3.1″ sensor, F/2.2, 1.12µm pixels) + 5MP (F/2.4, 1.12µm, depth sensor) dual rear cameras with dual-tone LED Flash.
The smartphone comes with 3000 mAh Li-ion non removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support. Usual connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.0 LE, GPS/GLONASS, NFC, FM Radio and 3.5mm Audio Jack are supported.
The BlackBery KEY 2 LE 32GB model price is set at US$ 399 / 399 / £349 / CA$519. The KEY2 LE 64GB variant will cost US$ 449 / €429 / £399 / CA $579 CAD. The mobile comes in Atomic, Slate and Champagne colors. It will go on sale in Germany, UK, France, UAE, Canada and US from next month.
