Dell expands its comprehensive portfolio of education solutions with the announcement of its latest Chromebook 5000 Series. The Dell 5190 Chromebook is the newest in line.
While the details are scarce at the moment, company (DELL EMC) revealed that Dell Chromebooks 5190 comes in clamshell or 2-in-1 convertible design. It has a sleek sturdy design with 11-inch screen.
Talking about ruggedness, this education focused Chromebook is specially built to withstand common accidents that may happen in class. Its robust chassis design is strong enough to sustain 48-inch drops or 30-inch drops on steel. This is just about the height of usual classroom desks. Additionally, Dell is claiming that Chromebook 5190 can withstand 10,000 micro 4-inch drops from multiple angles.
It also comes with EMR Pen support that offers natural pen-to-paper writing experience. The 5190 comes in options of dual-core and quad-core Celeron processors and offers USB Type-C connectivity as well. This makes it Dell’s first Chromebook to adopt new charging/syncing standards. The battery inside is rated to offer about 13 hours of usage.
The Dell 5190 Chromebook is priced at US$ 289 and will be available in February 2018.
