Huawei announces Nova 9, Nova 9 Pro and Freelace Lite

Huawei expands its Nova 9 series smartphones with the launch of Nova 9 and Nova 9 Pro. Along with it, company has also introduced Freelace Lite neck-band style semi in-ear earphones.

The Huawie Nova 9 8GB/128GB model is priced at 2699 Yuan ($417 / Rs. 30,800 approx.) while its 8GB/256GB model costs 2999 Yuan ($464 / Rs. 34,340 approx.) The Huawei Nova 9 Pro has price-tag of 3499 Yuan ($541 / Rs. 39,940 approx.) for 8GB/128GB model while its top-en 8GB/256GB variant will sell for 3899 Yuan ($603 / Rs. 44,520 approx.).

Both these smartphones come in Blue, Black, Green and Violet colors. They will go on sale in China from September 29th.

The Huawei Freelace Lite is priced at 269 Yuan ($41/ Rs. 3070 approx.) and comes in Mint Blue, Midnight Black and Yellow colors. It will go on sale in Chinese markets from September 27th.

The smartphone has dimensions of 160 x 73.7 x 7.77 mm and weighs 175 grams. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor and houses Dual Nano SIM slots for dual 4G VoLTE.

The Nova 9 specs include 6.57-inch curved OLED display with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1.07-billion colors and DCI-P3 wide color gamut.

Under the hood is octa-core Snapdragon 778G mobile platform with Adreno 642L GPU. It has 8GB RAM and 128GB / 25GB storage options. The smartphone comes pre-installed with Harmony OS 2.0.

It has 32MP front camera with F/2.0 Aperture. At the back side are quad cameras making up of 50MP (main RYYB, F/1.9), 8MP (ultra-wide, F/2.4), 2MP (depth, F/2.4) and 2MP (macro, F/2.4) lenses and LED Flash.

The Nova 9 feature a 4300mAh battery with 66W SuperCharge fast charging. It has support for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth V5.2, USB type-C, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou and USB Type-C Audio.

The Pro model houses a slightly larger 6.72-inch curved OLED display with 2676 x 1236 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1.07-billion colors and DCI-P3 color gamut.

It has Octa-core Snapdragon 778G mobile platform with Adreno 642L GPU at its core. The handset comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB / 256GB storage options. It runs on Harmony OS 2 out of the box.

The smartphone has dimensions of 163.4 x 74.4 x 7.97 mm and weighs 186 grams. It has Dual Nano SIM slots and houses an in-display fingerprint sensor for secure authentication.

The earphones offer a semi-in-ear design which is slightly different from Freelace and Freelace Pro. The FreeLace Lite has neckband style form factor with 835mm length and 25 grams weight. It has skin-friendly, breathable and comfortable soft ear support.

The earphones have function keys to control volume, power etc. It has IP55 dust and water resistant rating for easy use during light rain and workout sessions.

The Freelace Lite from Huawei houses 13m dynamic driver unit with an independent metal bass tube structure for optimum bass. It uses Bluetooth V5.2 for seamless connectivity with smartphones.

It offers AI call noise reduction and includes 110ms low latency gaming mode. The earphone houses 120mAh battery which offers up to 18 hours of playback on full charge. With 5 minutes of charging, one can get up to 4 hours of playback.
