Huawei’s Malaysia wing has introduced its new Nova Series smartphone called Nova 8i. The handset is successor to last years Nova 7i.
The Huawei Nova 8i comes with side mounted fingerprint sensor for biometrics. The smartphone measures 161.85 x 74.70 x 8.58 mm and has weight of approximately 190 grams (including battery). It comes with array of sensors like Gravity, Gyroscope, Ambient light and compass.
It has 6.67-inch IPS LCD display boasting 2376 x 1080 pixels FHD+ resolution and 180Hz touch sampling rate. The cellphone sports 1.35mm bezel at top and 1.3mm bezel at side. Thanks to its super-narrow bezels, it gives an astonishing 94.7% screen-to-body ratio.
The Huawei Nova 8i specs include octa-core (2Ghz A73 x 4 + 1.8GHz A53 x 4) Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 mobile platform with Adreno 610 GPU. It has 8GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage space and comes pre-installed with EMUI 11.0 (based on Android 10).
In terms of cameras, Nova 8i feature 64MP (main, F/1.9) + 8MP (120-degree ultra-wide, F/2.4) + 2MP (depth, F/2.4) + 2MP (macro, F/2.4) quad-camera system at back with LED flash. For selfies and video calling, Huawei has included 16MP front camera with F/2.0 Aperture.
Powering inside its cellphone is a 4300mAh (typical) battery with 66W Super Charge fast charging support. It is said to charge smartphone up to 60% in just 17 minutes and 100% in 38 minutes. The handset also includes Power Saving Ai algorithms to further enhance battery life.
The Huawei Nova 8i has 7 built-in antennas for optimum network coverage. It has support for Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.0, USB Type-C, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo and 3.5mm audio jack.
The Huawe Nova 8i price is set at RM1299 ($312 / Rs. 23,380 approx.) and comes in Moonlight Silver, Interstellar Blue and Starry Black colors. The handset is already up for pre-order, which will last till July 21st. Those who pre-book Nova 8i can avail benefits up to RM 260 ($63).
