A new Huawei smartphone under its Nova series has officially launched in South Africa. It is called as Huawei Nova Y9a (Model: FRL-22).
The mobile is priced at ZAR 6499 ($417 / Rs. 31,250 approx.) and comes in Space Silver, Midnight Black and Sakura Pink colors. It is already up for sale.

It is a dual SIM smartphone with dual 4G VoLTE support. The cell phone runs on Android 1 based EMUI 10.1 and comes with a fingerprint sensor for added security. Additionally, it has Ambient light, gyroscope, compass and gravity sensors inside.
The Huawei Nova Y9a specs include 6.63-inch IPS LCD display offering 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. Thanks to its notch-less screen, the handset boasts an astonishing 92% screen-to-body ratio.
Powering inside is an octa-core (2GHz Cortex-A75 x 2 + 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 x 6) MediaTek Helio G80 processor with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. It has 8GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage space. The handset allows further expansion up to 256GB using NM card.
The Nova Y9a feature a 16MP front camera with F/2.2 Aperture. It is placed inside a pop-up module. At the back side is a combination of quad-cameras and LED Flash. These include 64MP (main, 1/1.7″ sensor, F/1.8), 8MP (120-degree ultra-wide, F/2.4), 2MP (depth, F/2.4) and 2MP (macro, F/2.4) lenses.
The mobile phone fuels up with a 4300mAh (typical) / 4200mAh (typical for Middle East, Africa and some Asian markets). It supports 40W fast charging (again depending on market). The mobile is claimed to go from 0 to 70% in just 30 minutes.
Connectivity options of Huawei Nova Y9a include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.1 BLE, USB Type-C 2.0, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS/Beidou and 3.5mm earjack.
