iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro announced

iQOO has put an end to the rumors and has officially unveiled its latest iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro smartphones in china.

The iQOO 8 8GB/128GB model is priced at 3799 Yuan ($585 / Rs. 43,550 approx.) while its 12GB/256GB model costs 4199 Yuan ($647 / Rs. 48,150 approx.). The handset comes in Standard White, Black Striped and Legendary Editions (with BMW strips). The handset is already up for order and will go on sale in China from August 24th. Users can avail 100 Yuan discount during 1st sale.

The iQOO 8 Pro 8GB/256GB model costs 4999 Yuan ($772 / Rs. 57,300 approx.) while the 12GB/256GB variant has price-tag of 5499 Yuan ($847 / Rs. 63,020 approx.). The top-end iQOO 8 Pro 12GB/512GB version is priced at 5999 Yuan ($925 / Rs. 68,750 approx.). The cell phone comes in Track Striped Black and Legendary BMW Edition (With leather finishing). Mobile is already up for order in China and will go on sale from August 26th.

iQOO 8 Specifications

This mobile phone has dimension of 159.06 x 75.14 x 8.63 / 8.72 mm and weighs 199.9 / 209.5 grams (depending on model). It comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and supports face unlocking as well.

The iQOO 8 boots on Android 11 with OriginOS on top. It has Stereo speakers delivering Hi-Res audio. There is no 3.5mm audio jack so users will have to use USB Type-C audio. It has dual Nano SIM slots with 5G (SA/NSA) and Dual 4G VoLTE support.

At the front side sits a 6.56-inch AMOLED display offering 2376 x 1080 pixels resolution at 19.8:9 aspect ratio, 1.07B colors, DCI-P3 color gamut, up to 120Hz refresh rate, 6000000:1 contrast ratio and HDR10+ support. Thanks to its slim bezels, the handset boasts 92.76% screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood is octa-core Snapdragon 888 mobile platform with Adreno 660 GPU. It comes in options of 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB UFS 3.1 storage and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage space. It has 4350mAh (typical) / 4240mAh (minimum) battery with 120W ultra-fast flash charging.

The iQOO 8 specs include 16MP front camera with f/2.0 Aperture. At the back side includes 48MP (main, Sony IMX598, F/1.79, Gimbal Stabilization) + 13MP (120-degree wide-angle, F/2.2) + 13MP (portrait, F/2.46, 2x optical / 20x digital zoom) and LED flash.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.2, USB Type-C, NFC and GPS/GLONASS/Beidou.

The iQOO 8 Pro features in a larger 6.78-inch Samsung E5 AMOLED display and boasts 3200 x 1440 pixels QHD+ resolution. It has support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 120Hz refresh rate, 8000000:1 contrast ratio, DCI-P3 colors and throws out 1.07 billion colors. The handset also boasts 92.22% screen-to-body ratio.

Powering inside is an octa-core Snapdragon 888+ mobile platform with Adreno 660 GPU. It has 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB / 512GB UFS 3.1 storage options.

The iQOO 8 Pro specs also include triple rear cameras consisting of 50MP (main, Sony IMX766V, F/1.79, Gimbal stabilization) + 48MP (114-degree ultra-wide, Sony IMX598, F/2.2) + 16MP (portrait, F/2.23, 2.5x optical zoom) cameras and LED. At the front side is a 16MP selfie camera with F/2.0 Aperture.

Pumping inside is a 4500mAh (typical) / 4390mAh (minimum) battery and supports 120W Ultra-fast flash charging, 50W wireless flash charging and 10W wireless reverse charging.

The iQOO 8 Pro houses Qualcomm Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, Stereo speakers with Hi-Fi audio and CS43131 AMP. It has USB Type-C audio support. The handset comes with dual SIM support and 5G (SA/NSA) and Dual 4G VoLTE.

The mobile itself measures 165.01 x 75.20 x 9.19 mm and weighs 203.9 / 202.5 grams (depending on model). It has same connectivity options an iQOO 8 (non pro model).
