Kyocera International Inc, known for its rugged mobiles has announced its new smartphone called the DuraForce PRO. It has 13MP main snapper on the back comes with built-in super wide view action camera (135 degree) that takes 1080p videos. Interestingly, it even has under water operation mode. On the front is 5MP selfie snapper as well.
It is shock proof, drop-proof and comes with IP68 certification (waterproof up to 30 minutes at 2 meters depth). Moreover, It is also Military Standard 810G rated, giving protection against dust, shock, vibration, temperature, blowing rain, low pressure, solar radiation, icing/freezing rain etc.
The Kyocera DuraForce PRO specs include 5-Inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It has octa-core (1.5GHz x 4 + 1.2GHz x 4) Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC inside with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 2GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage ROM and houses 3240 mAh battery, that supports wireless charging.
This rugged smartphone comes with X8 LTE and multi-mode to support diverse global networks. It also comes with dedicated side button for push-to-talk (PTT) that can be configured to access most used feature or application.
Kyocera is offering 2-year manufacturer’s warranty for the device. The Duraforce PRO will be available in the US in coming months (this fall). Pricing details were not revealed.
