Leica’s 2nd generation smartphone is officially in Japan. The device is dubbed as Leitz Phone 2. The handset is highly based on Sharp Aquos R7 with noticeable difference in color and Android 12 OS custom Leica UI (with LFI widget).
The Leica Leitz Phone 2 feature a 6.6-inch OLED IGZO display that offers FHD+ resolution (2730 x 1260 pixels). It has up to 240Hz dynamic refresh rate and offers up to 2000nits of brightness.
For processing, it has Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G mobile platform. It is paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The smartphone has microSD card support up to 1TB as well.
The Leitz Phone 2 has 47.2MP main and 1.9MP depth cameras at back along with LED Flash. The rear camera module comes with Leitz branding and offers several Leica filters via Leica camera UI. At the front side is a 12.6MP selfie shooter placed inside punch hole.
It has an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. This cell phone also offers water and dust resistance thanks to its IPX5/IPX8/IP6X ratings. It has a 5000mAh battery with USB PD fast charging.
