Android 7.0 Nougat is the latest Android OS and is already available to selected Nexus phones. There is a constant confusion about which phones will get Android 7.0 update.
The smartphones bought from Carriers usually take longer to get the updates due to its testing process. If you are T-Mobile USA user and wondering if your phone will get Android 7.0 Nougat update, there is a good news for you. T-Mobile has shared a list of smartphones that are eligible.
Currently the Android 7.0 update will be available for Samsung and HTC phones only. We expect smartphones from other manufacturers including LG to be listed soon. The current Phone list include –
- HTC 10
- HTC One M9
- Samsung Galaxy S6
- Samsung Galaxy S6 edge
- Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+
- Samsung Galaxy S7
- Samsung Galaxy S7 edge
- Samsung Galaxy Note 5
- Samsung Galaxy Note 7
T-Mobile did not reveal about exactly when the Android 7.0 updates will be available. Do expect to take time as “Device manufacturers and T-Mobile have agreed to support the update but testing has not yet begun”.
Software updates are a long process, which require a partnership between the software developer, the device manufacturer, and T-Mobile. After initial software is developed, the device manufacturer works with T-Mobile to customize the software, including changes for your device hardware, the T-Mobile wireless radios, and applications.
