NVIDIA, known for its GPU has announced its latest graphic card named the GeForce GTX 1080. It is build on TSMC’s 16nm FinFET process and sports new Pascal architecture.
The GeForce GTX 1080 is said to give twice the performance and is three times efficient than its predecessor, the TITAN X.It has 8GB GDDR5X Micron’s Memory with memory type-speeds of up to 1733 MHz. This card is capable of 320 GB/s memory bandwith and features 2560 CUDA cores.
The Graphic card supports Vulkan graphics API’s and supports DirctX 12 as well. It supports display devices beyond 5K including HDR and is powerful enough to support immersive VR. It has a unique design that enables higher clock speeds for performance yet utilizing least power.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 will be available from NVIDIA, ASUS, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, MSI, Palit, PNY and Zotac for a price-tag of US$ 599. The GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition will be available for US$ 699 from May 27, 2016.
Company has also announced GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition Graphic card, that will cost US$ 449. It will go on sale from June 10, 2016. NVIDIA partner pricing starts from US$ 379
