Pete Lau went on to confirm that OnePlus 6 could arrive in close proximity to last year’s OnePlus 5’s launch time frame around June. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, which was expected.
OnePlus will also begin talks with U.S carriers to enter mainstream markets. Analysts believe that 85% to 90% consumers in US buy their smartphones from carriers. A potential deal with a carrier would bring in a higher-profile distribution partner.
He further went on to reveal that face unlock feature in OnePlus 5T will also make its way into beta builds for OnePlus 3 and 3T. “There’s no reason to withhold features we can easily implement”, said Pei.
