Today is the day of arrival, making an entrance is Samsung Galaxy Note7. South Korean phone maker, ending all the rumors, has just launched its latest flagship smartphone in its Note Series. The announcement was just made at its “Unpacked” event held in New York.
For those who were not lucky enough to attend the event, the launch occasion was broadcasted live. VR Headset users had option to view the event on a 360-degree stream. This was done by YouTube app using phone’s accelerometer to let you look around. Gear VR users had the option to download Unpacked 360 view app to download and install from Oculus Store.
Samsung had already teased some of its features in a TV ad. Now it has been confirmed that phone phone has indeed skipped the ‘6’moniker and went with Note7. Maybe it is because the name goes in hand with its current Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge phones.
The phablet has already been leaked several times in the past and earlier today, it showed of its full glory in live images. Now, the wait is over.
The Samsung Galaxy Note7 Specifications include 5.7-inch Super AMOLED dual curved display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection for scratch resistance. It has 518ppi pixel density, 80.94% screen-to-body ratio, 16.7M color depth and supports multi-touch as well.
The phone is water and dust resistant and is IP68 certified. It has dimensions of 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9 mm and weighs 169 grams. It comes fingerprint (touch) scanner and supports Stylus as well. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box and comes with Knox.

Its SPen is also water and dust resistant. It is meant to connect analog world with digital world. It has 0.7mm thin tip and array of new features. One can hold side button and erase sketch. Samsung Single application called Samsung Notes (one place app for SPen). Spen is more intellegent and also works as translator (hover over a word and get translation).
The Galaxy Note7 specs include (2.3GHz x 4 + 1.6GHz x 4) Octa-Core Exynos 8890 64-Bit 14nm processor coupled with Mali-T880 MP12 GPU. US will get the Snapdragon 820 SoC processor inside. It has 4GB LPDDR4 (dual-channel) RAM and comes with 64GB internal storage space. It is further expandable up to 256GB using MicroSD card.
On the front side is 5MP selfie camera coupled with 12MP main camera on the back. It uses dual pixel technology and comes with F/1.7 Aperture, 26mm focal length (equivalent to 35mm), 1/2.5″ Sensor size, 1.4µm pixel size, smart Optical image stabilization, Phased detection Auto Focus and supports RAW capture, digital zoom, face detection and 4K video recording.
It has 3500 mAh battery the fuels the hardware. Moreover it supports quick charging and wired / wireless charging. It also incorporates Iris Scanner (unlocks phone using eyes), Heart Rate sensor and Barometer as well. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2×2 MIMO), Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V4.2 LE, USB Type-C, NFC, 3.5mm Audio Jack etc.
The Samsung Glaxy Note7 comes in Blue Coral, Black Onyx, Silver Titanium and Gold Platinum colors. It will go on sale from August 19, 2016 and pre-orders will start soon in most countries (in couple of days). Samsung is also giving Note7 buyers 15GB of free space on Samsung Cloud.
