Samsung Galaxy Note7 refund details for US retailers

Samsung has officially announced that it is ending production of Galaxy Note7 and permanently discontinuing it worldwide. A press release has been issued for the same, asking users to power down all original / replaced Note7 phones.

The Korean phone maker has also asked companies to stop selling the smartphone and urged its customers to return their devices to their original place of buying for a full-refund.

Now, most of the retailers in US has started taking back Galaxy Note7. The return info is available at respective carrier pages as well. To make things easy for our readers, we have compiled a list of information from different sellers.

Carrier and return information as on October 11th.

AT&T

  • Phone: 1-800-331-0500
  • allows one to return Galaxy Note7 and its accessories for full refund
  • Users can exchange it with any other phone (not limited to just Samsung)
  • AT&T customers that bought Note7 from carrier will also receive $25 statement credit (appear in 2 billing cycles as Samsung Note7 Exchange credit) and is limited to Samsung devices only

T-Mobile

  • Phone: 1-844-275-9309
  • T-Mobile users can get full refund for the Note7 and its accessories at T-Mobile retail stores.
  • You can ask for a refund towards purchase of any other smartphone
  • Carrier will waive any restocking fees
  • Those who pre-ordered the smartphone will be allows to have their chosen gift (Gear Fit or 1-year Netflix)
  • Customers who ordered Note7 before September 2nd will get $25 bill credit (one time) in two billing cycles

U.S. Cellular

  • Phone: 1-888-944-9400
  • Exchange for a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge and replacement of any Note 7 accessories with a refund for the price difference between devices.
  • Customers will receive a $25 bill credit from U.S. Cellular when choosing a Galaxy S7 family device
  • U.S. Cellular has yet to update refund / exchange details (last updated on Sep 2)

  • Make an appointment at Sprint store for a quicker visit
  • Customers need to bring Galaxy Note7 to retail store for refund
  • Sprint’s employee will help you choose a different device. In case the value is highers, users will have to pay difference. Company will give out a partial refund if its of lesser value
  • Customers who exchange Note7 with Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge will get $25 bill credit (in 3 billing cycles).
  • Restocking fees will be waived

  • Verizon customers needs to bring Samsung Note7 and its accessories to Verizon retail stores to get full refund and “choose from any available devices”
  • No other information is available about $25 bill credit

  • Those who purchased Note7 from Best Buy store can bring back the phone to nearest outlet and talk to the person in Blue Shirt (Specifically Blue Shirt and not Samsung guys).
  • Users can exchange Note 7 for Galaxy S7 edge or any other device and get refund for price difference.
  • Phone accessories will be refunded as well
  • Users can also get full refund for the phone and its accessories and walk away.
  • There is no details available about $25 credit or any Best  Buy gift card
