Samsung Galaxy Note8, company’s latest flagship smartphone had finally landed in India. It comes with Bixby AI assistant and sports a dedicated hardware Bixby button.
The smartphone is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. The handset measures 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6 mm and weighs 195 grams. It has hybrid Dual SIM slots (nano + nano / microSD) and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS.
The Galaxy Note8 Specs include 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Infinity display with 2960 x 1440 pixels resolution. It has 18.5:9 aspect ratio, 522ppi pixel density and supports multi-touch. It comes with an improved S-Pen that offers added functionality.
The Variant in India is powered by an octa-core Samsung Exynos 9 Series 8895 processor with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU. It is backed by 6GB LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB ROM and allows further expansion up to 256GB as well.
The hardware is powered by 3300 mAh battery. It also supports Wired and Wireless (WPC and PMA) fast charging too. A fingerprint sensor is also present for quick unlocking and added security.
The Galaxy Note 8 features in 12MP dual-pixel rear camera with wide-angle lens, F/1.7 Aperture, OIS and LED Flash. There is a secondary 12MP rear shooter with telephoto lens, F/2.4 Aperture, OIS, 10X digital Zoom and 2X optical Zoom support. 4K video recording is also support.
The smartphone is also equipped with 8MP selfie camera. It has wide-angle lens, F/1.7 Aperture and supports Auto Focus.
There are array of sensors like, Proximity, Pressure sensor, Heart Rate sensor, RGB Light, IRIS sensor, Hall, Geomagnetic, Gyro, Barometer and Accelerometer.
Connectivity wise, the cell phone supports 4G VoLTE in India along with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth V5.0 LE, GPS/GLONASS, USB Type-C 3.1, MST and NFC
The Samsung Galaxy Note8 price is set at Rs. 67,900 (US$ 1060 approx.) and comes in Maple Gold and Midnight Black colors. It is up for pre-order at Samsung online shop, Amazon.in and Samsung offline stores. The handset will go on sale from September 21.
The Note8 also comes with one-time free screen replacement. As an introductory offer, Samsung is also giving a wireless charger for those who pre-order. HDFC Credit card users can avail Rs. 4000 cash back. Jio customers with get up to 448GB of additional data.
