Details for upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone has started emerging. The latest news on the topic are the model numbers of S8.
According to well known tipster Evan Blass, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will skip SM-G94* model numbers and will launch with SM-G950 and SM-G955. He also went on to reveal a new smartphone bearing model number SM-N950. The SM-N9XX series devices are usually Galaxy Note series phones, which hints that Samsung might put the Note7 fiasco behind, sooner than expected.
If you consider previous Galaxy phones, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edged came with model number SM-G920 and SM-G925. After that, Samsung launched Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and it had model number SM-G930 and SM-G935.
Considering the number scheme, one might expected SM-G940 / SM-G945 for the next flagship. However, looking at reliability and previous track record of the leakster Evan Blass, we believe that Samsung might skip a digit with Galaxy S8. The phone is expected to be announced on Feb 2017.
