Samsung has finally introduced its latest rugged smartphone called Galaxy XCover 5. Depending on market, it comes with Single or Dual SIM options and is powered by Android 11 OS out of the box (includes Samsung Knox defense grade security platform).
The Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance and can survive in water for about 30 minutes a 1 meter depts. It also boasts MIL-STD-810H durability rating and easily withstand falls from up to 1.5m meters.
The phone itself has dimensions of 147.1 x 71.6 x 9.2 mm. It includes a programmable hot key for quick launching apps and settings. At the front side of this rugged cellphone is a 5.3-inch TFT display offering HD+ resolution.
Under the hood is octa-core Exynos 850 mobile processor with Mali-G52 MP1 GPU. It is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of built-in storage space. Powering its hardware is a 3000mAh (removable) battery with 15 Fast charging support.
The Galaxy XCover 5 specs include 5MP fixed focus front camera with F/2.2 Aperture and supports face recognition. At the back side is a single 16MP auto focus camera with F/1.8 Aperture and dual-led flash.
The handset comes with Accelerometer, proximity, geomagnetic, light and gyro sensors. It has support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth V5.0, NFC (EMV L1) and GPS/GLONASS/Beidou.
The Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 price is £330 in UK. It will go on sale from March 12th. This rugged mobile will also land in other markets of Europe, Asia and Latin America later this month. [source]
