Xiaomi has officially launched its latest Android One smartphone in India called Mi A2. It was first introduced last month. The handset runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and is upgradable to Android 9.0 Pie OS in coming months.
The smartphone features in 5.99-inch 2.5D curved glass multi-touch display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio, 1500:1 contrast ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 specs include octa-core (2.2GHz Kryo 260 x 4 + 1.8GHz Kryo 260 x 4) Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform with Adreno 512 GPU. It has 4GB / 6GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB / 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage options (non expandable).
In terms of cameras, it has 12MP primary rear camera with LED FLash, SOny IMX486 sensor, F/1.75 Aperture, 1.25μm pixel size and EIS. Additionally, there is a 20MP secondary rear camera with Sony IMX376 sensor, 4-in-1 2.0μm pixels and F/1.75 Aperture. At the front side is 20MP selfie camera with Sony IMX376 sensor, 4-in-1 2.0μm pixels and Soft LED Flash.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 dimensions are 158.7 x 75.4 x 7.3 mm and has weight of 168 grams. It has dual SIM slots and supports Dual 4G VoLTE. It has rear facing fingerprint sensor and an IR sensor. The mobile is powered by 3010 mAh (typical) / 2910 mAh (minimum) battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ fast charging (only for India).
The Xiaomi Mi A2 4GB RAM variant is priced in India at Rs. 16,999 and is up for pre-order at Amazon.in and Mi.com. Shipping will start next week, with first sale slated to begin on August 16th. The Mi A2 6GB RAM model will be available soon.
