Xiaomi has officially announced its latest 4K box powered by Android TV called Mi Box S.It offers 60fps 4K HDR video decoding and runs on Android TV 8.1.
The Xiaomi Mi Box S features in quad-core Cortex-A53 processor coupled with Mali-450 GPU. It has 2GB RAM (DDR3) and 8GB eMMC flash storage space. The device comes with Voice remote which has shortcuts for Assistant, Netflix, Apps etc.
The presence of Google Assistant further voice search and usability. It has Dolby Digital Plus and DTS surround sound. The Mi Box S also allows one to download Apps and Games from Google Play store. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz) and Bluetooth.
The device measures 92.25 x 95.25 x 16.7 mm and has weight of 147 grams. It has one HDMI 2.0a port, USB 2.0 and Audio Out as well. The box can easily handle Vp9, H.265, H.264, MPEG1/2/4, VC-1 and Real8/9/10. It has built-in Chromecast.
The Xiaomi Mi Box S price is $59.99 (Rs. 4,450 approx.) and is up for pre-order in US at Walmart. It will ship next month in November.
