The Fitbit Versa 2 swim-proof fitness smartwatch is now official. There is a Versa 2 Special Edition as well.
The smartwatch comes with built-in Amazon Alexa. There is a microphone inside to recognize voice commands.
The wearable is water resistant up to 50 meters, allowing one to use it during swimming, showers and in pools. It is a smart tracker which can automatically recognize and record activities like running, sports and aerobic workouts.
The Fitbit Versa 2 includes optical heart rate monitor for enhanced PurePulse heart rate tracking with greater accuracy (even during workout sessions). There are more than 15 exercise modes and activity tracking (steps, distance, calories, floors climbed etc.). It gives out sedentary reminders as well.
You can also track light / deep / REM sleep and based on your hear rate, time asleep and restlessness offers personalized score for understanding your sleep quality each night.
There is a built-in storage space which lets you store about 300 songs on device itself. You can also download / listen Pandora stations and supports Spotify music playback.
The Fitbit Versa 2 features in an always-on AMOLED touch screen display which has a larger display area when compared to other Versa family watches. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection as well.
If you are worried about build quality, the Versa 2 has brushed anodized aluminum case which is soft to the touch and seamless front to back. Its band is made from flexible, durable material similar to the ones used in many sports watches.
Apart from Optical Heart rate monitor, Fitbit Versa 2 includes 3-axis accelerometer, Altimeter, Vibration Motor, Relative SpO2 sensor, NFC and Ambient Light sensor. There is Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n antenna, Bluetooth V4.0 LE, NFC and GPS. It has support for Fitbit PAY for making secure purchases.
It offers more than 5 days of battery life in normal use. The smartwatch is compatible with devices running on Android 5.0 or later and iPhone 4s or later.
The Fitbit Versa 2 price is Rs. 20,999 and comes in Black (Carbon Case), Petal (Copper Rose Aluminum case) and Stone (Mist Grey Case). The Fitbit Versa 2 Special Edition price is Rs. 22,999 and comes in Navy and Pink colors (with Copper Rose Aluminum case) and Smoke (with Mist Grey case).
The smartwatch will start rolling out globally from September 15th. For India, you can buy Fitbit Versa 2 at major offline stores like Reliance Digital, Croma, Helios etc. It will also sell online at Amazon.in and Flipkart.
