India has several Android Oreo Go Edition smartphones like Nokia 1 and Lava Z50. Today, Micromax has upped the competition with its new Go Edition phone called Bharat GO. Micromax has partnered with Airtel for the handset.
As you might expect, Micromax Bharat GO packs entry level specs. It has 4.5-inch display with 854 x 480 pixels FWVGA resolution. It is powered by 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor with ARM Mali-T720 GPU.
The smartphone comes with dual SIM slots and supports 4G VoLTE. It has 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory and allows further expansion up to 128GB using MicroSD card. It comes pre-installed with Android 8.1 Oreo GO Edition OS.
The Bharat GO specs also include 5MP front camera with LED flash. There is another 5MP primary shooter at the back with LED flash. It has 2000 mAh battery. Connectivity wise, it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth V4.0, GPS and MicroUSB V2.0.
The Micromax Bharat GO price is set at Rs. 4399 (MOP) but can be availed at an effective price of Rs. 2399 (Cashback of Rs. 2000 as part of Airtel’s ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ initiative).
Shubhodip Pal, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer, Micromax said:

Android Oreo (Go Edition) is a compelling proposition for the mobile first economy like India. We are proud to announce the launch of Bharat GO, a smartphone powered by the Android Oreo (Go Edition) today. Micromax Started the journey of empowering users a year ago with the launch of Bharat series. If we look at the statistics, there is still a huge gap when it comes to smartphone adoption all over the country owing to the lack of affordable smartphones in the sub 5k category.
Micromax has always believed in massifying and democratizing technology, be it through launching the first phone with qwerty keyboard or the first phone with dual SIM. And today we are extremely proud to partner with Airtel and Google for the launch of Bharat Go, which will further bridge the need gap of the consumers.

Sagar Kamdar, Product Director, Google India, said:

Android’s mission has always been to bring the power of computing to everyone, and part of that is ensuring a great experience across a broad range of devices. Android Oreo (Go edition) is specifically optimised to bring an easy, powerful software experience to devices with 1GB of RAM or less. We’re excited to see Micromax further that mission by launching the Bharat Go.
