Xiaomi’s Realme brand has unveiled a new iteration of Note 8 called Redmi Note 8 (2021). The phone comes with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and has support for AI Face unlock.
The Redmi Note 8 (2021) feature in P2i coating for splash resistance. It is powered by Android based MIUI 12.5 and houses Dual Nano SIM slots and a dedicated MicroSD card slot.
The device measures 158.3 x 75.3 x 8.35mm and weighs 190 grams. It has 1217 super-linear speaker system for audio and includes 3.5mm headphone jack as well.
The Redmi Note 8 (2021) specs include a 6.3-inch multi-touch dot-drop display with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 409ppi pixel density, 500nits (typ) brightness and 1500:1 contrast ratio. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.
This cell phone also sports octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor inside with ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU (1000Mhz). It has 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and comes in options of 64GB / 128GB (eMMC 5.1) built-in storage space. Its storage is further expandable up to 256GB using MicroSD card.
The Redmi Note 8 2021 comes with quad-rear cameras and LED Flash. It includes 48MP (main, 1/2″ Samsung GM1 sensor, F/1.79, 0.8um pixels, 4-in-1 super pixel at 12MP) + 8MP (ultra-wide, 120° FoV (102° after distortion correction), F/2.2) + 2MP (macro, F/2.4) + 2MP (depth, F/2.4) cameras. At the front side is an in-display 13MP camera with F/2.0 Aperture.
The smartphone packs in 4000mAh (typical) battery capacity and supports 18W fast charging. Redmi has included a 22.5W charger inside the box. Device also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5Ghz), Bluetooth V5.2, USB Type-C, GPS/GLONASS and 3.5mm audio jack.
