Xiaomi at its Smarter Living event has launched its new Mi Smart Speaker in India. It is powered by Google assistant and comes with dual far field microphones (with option to switch them off) for accurate voice recognition.
The Mi Smart Speaker features in 2.5-inch full frequency 12W speaker with 63.5mm sound driver. It has TAS5805M Hi-Fi Audio processor from Texas Instruments which delivers 360-degree surround sound.
Speaker uses Bluetooth V4.2 (A2DP) to connect with smartphones. It is also compatible with mobiles running on Android 4.4 or higher and iOS 9.0 or higher. This smart Bluetooth speaker from MI has 10531 sound holes around it.
The device measures 131 x 104 x 151 mm and weighs 853 grams. It has 0.7mm metal mesh casing with Matte-stone black finishing. On the speaker are touch controls for playing / pause music or changing tracks. It also comes with ring strip at top for lighting effects.
The Mi Smart Speaker has Wi-Fi Dual Band (2.4/5GHz) support. It has Chromecast functionality for streaming shows, music, movies etc.
The Mi Smart Speaker price is Rs. 3999 and comes in Black Color. Initially, Xiaomi will sell it at introductory price of Rs. 3499 and includes free 1 year Gaana Plus subscription. It will sell at Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home Store.
