Apple has officially unveiled its latest iPhone 14 Series smartphones. The lineup includes latest iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
All the Apple iPhone 14 series models come with new Crash detection and Emergency SOS via satellite. They use new dual-core accelerometer which detects G-Force measurement up to 256G’s. It works with High Dynamic Range Gyroscope for Crash detection. Notably, new iPhones can now detect severe car crashes automatically and automatically dial emergency services when a user is unconscious.
The new iPhone 14 models lineup brings support for Emergency SOS using satellite. It works with custom components which are deeply integrated in software to allow one to connect directly to satellite. This allows one to enable messaging to emergency services without any cellular or Wi-Fi coverage.
Coming to the newly launched iPhones, the Apple iPhone 14 is successor to last year’s iPhone 13. The Apple iPhone 14 Plus is basically iPhone 13, but with larger display and a better battery.
Both of these come with IP68 water and dust resistant rating. Depending on market, both of these come in dual eSIM or Nano+eSim options. These have built-in Li-ion battery with 15W MagSafe wireless charging and Qi-Wireless charging support.
The Apple iPhone 14 / 14 Plus are powered by 6-core A15 Bionic Chip with 4-core GPU and 16-core NPU. These have options of 128GB/256GB/512GB storage space. They include a 12MP truedepth front camera with auto focus. At the back side is a combo of 12MP wide-angle and 12MP ultra-wide angle shooters and True-tone flash.

Now, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max mobile lineup are different. They are successor to last years iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, and brings several upgrades.
The usual iPhone notch is replaced by new Dynamic Island that adapts in real time. It is basically a smaller punch-hole type notch which hides TrueDepth camera and other sensors. The dynamic Island uses smooth animations to show important alerts, notifications or activities without impeding content on screen.
The Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max feature in new Hexa-core A16 Bionic chip which is made up of two High performance cores and four high-efficiency cores. Notably, Apple says that it is 40% fast than its competition.
Apart from bigger displays, major upgrade in iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max are the cameras cameras. These come with new Pro camera system at back featuring 48MP main camera with quad-pixel sensor. It combines every four pixels in one large pixel (equivalent to 2.44um at 12MP). It has second generation sensor shift OIS.
Additionally, the quad-pixel sensor allows 2x Telephoto option that uses middle 12MP of the sensor for full resolution photos and 4K videos (with no digital zoom). It supports ProRAW at 48MP. Also included is a new 12MP ultra-wide camera with 1/4um pixels and macro shot capabilities.

The iPhone 14 will be on sale from September 16th and the iPhone 14 Plus availability is slated from October 7th through Apple Authorized Resellers. The iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max willbe available from September 16th with pre-orders starting September 9th.
