Samsung has officially introduces its latest Exynos 800 chipset. The SoC already powers Vivo Y70s smartphone, which was announced yesterday in China.

The Samsung Exynos 880 chipset is basically a cut-down variant of Exynos 980. It is based on 8nm FinFET processor and comes with eight CPU cores (two 2GHz Cortex-A77 performance cores + six 1.8Ghz Cortex-A55 efficiency cores).

The SoC is paired with Mali-G76 MP5 GPU. It supports display with up to 2520 x 1080 pixels FHD+ resolution. It supports LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 / eMMC 5.1 storage space.

The Exynos 880 SoC can handle a single 64MP camera or dual 20MP + 20MP shooters. It can encode 4K UHD videos at 30fps and decode HEVC (H.265), H.264 and VP9.

Connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth V5.0, GPS/GLONASS/Bediou/Galileo and FM Radio will be supported.
