UNISOC, previously known as Spreadtrum has announced SC9863 and SC9832E SoC Mobile Processors in India.
The SC9832E is specially for budget smartphones and has been certified for Android Go smartphones. The SC9863 on the other hand comes for mid-range devices.
It has eight Cortex-A55 cores with clock speeds up to 1.6GHz. The SoC is equipped with LTE Cat7 modem which allows dual-card dual VoLTE and VoWiFi (4G + 4G). Displays with up to 2160 x 1080 pixels FHD+ resolution are supported.
The SC9863 can handle a 16MP shooter (3xCSI 4+4+2 Lane/4xCSI 4+2+2+2 Lane interface) or 16MP + 5MP dual rear cameras. The camera(s) can record 1080p videos as well.
The chipset also comes with Real Time image processing and 3D noise reduction. It has SLAM algorithm for smooth and stable AR photography and video. Based on IR structured light, the chipset delivers high-precision 3D imaging and modelling functions.
The UNISOC SC9863 features in 3D Face ID capability. It is based on deep neural networks and is said to be fast and accurate.
It has 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 quad-cores and is based on 28nm HPC+ processor technology. The chipset is paired with Mali-T820 (680Mhz) GPU and supports OpenGL ES 3.0 and Vulkun 1.0 GPU API.
The UNISOC SC9832E features in Cat4 4G VoLTE model which supports 4G + 4G/3G on dual SIM dual standby. The SoC supports LPDDR3 RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth V4.2, FM Radio and GPS/GLONASS/Beidou are supported.
The chipset handles display with 1440 x 720 pixels HD+ resolution and supports 1080p video playback. In terms of camera, the SC9832E supports 13MP single shooter (2xCSI 4+4 Lane/3x CSI 4+2+2 Lane interface) and 1080p recording at 30fps
Both UNISOC SC9863 and SC9832E should land in cell phones in coming months.
