MediaTek has made its new chipset for Smart TV official. It goes by the name MT5670. The Chipset supports 4K UHD resolution (at 60Hz direct drive) and leverages advanced processing technologies for true studio quality video. The SoC allows TV manufacturers to integrate voice capabilities for enhanced user experience.
The MediaTek MT5670 features in four ARM Cortex-A53 Cores clocked at 1.5GHz. There is an ARM Mali-G51 GPU (supports OpenGL ES 1.1/2.0/3.1/3.2) included as well. It comes with MediaTek’s TV AI Picture quality (AI PQ) technology which uses facial and scene recognition to automatically adjust sharpness and fine tune picture quality.
It has Android TV 9 support along with MediaTek’s MiraVision technology. It has MDDi de-interlace solution for smooth picture quality as well. There is a worldwide multi-standard analog TV demodulators (ATSC/DVB-T/DVB-C/ISDB-T), A transport de-multiplexer, a multi-standard video decoder (including VP9), H.264 encoder and Rich Format audio codec. It has HDMI 2.0 receiver with 3D support as well.
The MediaTek MT5670 will be available globally in Smart TV’s in this month itself.
